Australian Senate praise for campaign against immunisation misinformation

Last night, in the Australian Senate, Senator Richard Di Natale praised the efforts of Toni and David McCaffery, who have honoured their baby daughter Dana’s short life by benefiting our whole community. The McCafferys lost their little girl to Pertussis. They wanted to ensure that no other parent need feel the pain they still endure. They are owed a debt of gratitude. Instead, what they got from Meryl Dorey and her anti-vaccination organisation, the AVN, was vilification. This would not do.

Stop the Australian Vaccination Network was born in 2009, shortly after Dana’s passing, and immediately after the first rounds of nastiness were fired at the McCafferys by Dorey and her ghouls. The anti-vaccination misinformation and ideologically driven vileness needed to end.

We promised we were not going anywhere until this was set right.

We have kept that promise.

Thank you Senator Di Natale
