The Chiropractic Board of Australia has had enough:

The Chiropractic Board of Australia cracks down to protect the public.

The Chiropractic Board of Australia is cracking down on chiropractors who step outside their primary role as healthcare practitioners and provide treatment that puts the public at risk.

To protect public safety, the Board has:

– ordered practitioners to remove all anti-vaccination material from their websites and clinics 
– removed several courses from the list of approved CPD programs, and 
– introduced random audits of practitioner compliance with the Board’s registration standards. [Media Release August 8 2013]

It’s time for the CBA to begin their spot-checks. Given that chiropractors (as shown in this series) have brazenly declared that they will continue to advise their customers on immunisation – a topic they clearly do not understand – the CBA needs to begin this “crack-down” in earnest. It is obvious the profession is infected with anti-vaccinationists, a species compelled to evangelise. Chiropractic has cellulitis. It is about to rupture.

I would like to humbly suggest they make their way to the NSW Hunter Region, and pop in on the Healing Wave Chiropractic franchises. A few of the guys there have ‘tude. They won’t be told what to do by anyone, especially no pesky pen-pushing board.

We have met Tim Shakespeare before (I promise, we will meet him again). He calls himself “The Rex”, without any hint of irony. Shakespeare is a board member of the Chiropractors’ Association Of Australia’s NSW outlet. He is not the only anti-vaccinationist at Healing Wave. I suspect there are a few. Today I present another one of them.

Natalie Crozier is a member of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia, of course. On her publicly available Facebook profile, Crozier includes her qualifications, and her place of business:

So, on her publicly available Facebook page, which directly cites her profession and place of business, let’s see what Crozier deems to be appropriate immunisation information.

Again with Mercola and Palevsky. Crozier’s citations would contradict her claims about wanting to educate people:

A two-lie screenshot. A lie about the Gardasil vaccine, as well as a lie about the number of “injections” given to children. Clearly, Crozier needs to bone up on the immunisation schedule, instead of repeating lies she’s heard from Meryl Dorey:

Linking to, and believing, Meryl Dorey and her dastardly anti-vaccination organisation, the Australian Vaccination Network, Crozier agrees that healthy kids checks are a bridge too far. This is the AVN ACTION ALERT which argues that healthy kids checks will be exactly like the Stolen Generation, because, as we all know, anti-vaccinationism alone is not offensive enough:

This last one is intriguing, and enlightening. This is one of the curiosities of evangelical anti-vaccinationism with which I am engrossed. What level of Dunning-Kruger does it take for someone to claim they have been researching a given, complex, specialist topic for a few weeks, to then immediately conclude that they have accrued enough wisdom on this topic to start taking questions, so as to provide answers on this topic? How does this happen? Why does it happen in some disciplines more than others?

And, more to the point, when is the CBA going to start these random spot checks, so as to ensure that the incapable among us are not claiming to know about things they most obviously don’t.
